We’re excited to announce our new grantees for 2012, with our largest December intake to date.
Twenty-one applicants have been successful in securing a Staying Alive Foundation Grant that will see their HIV prevention efforts in their local communities come to fruition with financial and training support from the Staying Alive Foundation.
This year we’re funding in two countries never before reached by the Staying Alive Foundation Grant-Giving Programme, with Haiti and South Sudan making their marks on our map. From targeting the MSM and transgender communities in Laos, to reaching injecting drug users in Kenya through the use of Taekwondo, we’re proud to be funding these 21 outstanding youth organisations.
We painstakingly dwindled down more than 1700 first round applications to shortlist 407 to the second stage of our competitive process. From this we reach the top 40 grant proposals from all over the world before selecting our final 21.
A big thank you from the Staying Alive Foundation team to those who took the time to apply for our 2012 intake and for those who missed out, we will open another call for applications in mid 2013 for our December 2013 intake.
